Itinerary 02 Days 01 Night Tour Package

Tour itinerary:
Day 1 (Sat): Reach Hotel Kautilya Vihar, Patna. Collect your water bottles. Board your vehicle and get ready for a fun-filled adventurous excursion to Valmiki tiger Reserve. Take a break in Muzaffarpur for tea and stretch your legs. Lunch in Bettiah, the district headquarters of West Champaran, wherefrom Mahatma Gandhi initiated his struggle against the British rule. Reach Valmikinagar feeling the cold fresh air of the dense Sal forests en- route. After check-in at Valmiki Vihar, enjoy a hot cup of tea and snacks. Take a stroll in the Eco-park and along the pathway hugging the mighty bubbling Gandak river. Keep an eye out for crocodiles, gharials and dolphins. From international border, watch the lights of Nepal across the river and the dark mountains in the backdrop. Come back in time to enjoy (and participate in) the cultural tribal folk dance. Visit and purchase handicrafts from the local souvenir shop run by the eco-development committee. (Remember, each purchase from you will help in income generation of the local folks which would reduce their dependency on the Reserve resources and add to conservation values in the Reserve.) End the day by watching an exciting film on Tiger, the king of the jungle and other wildlife. Go to bed with the music of the jungle in ears and the excitement of adventure-in-store in your hearts. Day 2 (Sun): Get up early morning to the chirping of birds. After a quick sip of the morning tea inside your room or under the canopy outside in cool morning air, get ready for a trip of excitement and adventure. Grab your woollens/jackets, caps, cameras and binoculars for a jungle safari and trek of a lifetime. Board the safari vehicles and head into the jungle feeling the chill of fresh air on your faces. You are in Tiger Territory!
Drive over the forest roads under tall sal, teak and asan trees. Keep an eye out for lurking leopard or crouching tiger in the dense undergrowth on both sides. You may find pugmarks of these on the road too! Cross jungle streams through boulders and splash of sprakling waters. Visit the grasslands of T39, Bhaluthapa and Motradda. If you are lucky, you may encounter the mighty Gaur, the mega-herbivore of these forests. See the Cheetal flocks, a lone barking deer, Sambhar mother with a fawn or a scurrying wild boar. Enjoy the thrilling tales from the accompanying forest guide about the abode of these forest denizens.
Visit the Jatashankar temple inside the reserve and look in awe at the ages old ficus trees growing atop dilapidated buildings. Take a trek to Elephant camp and feed them a banana or two. Visit the centuries old Koleshwar temple and take in the natural beauty at Koleshwar view-point, End your adventurous trek by walking along the 200 metre long hanging canopy walk (Koleshwar Jhula) amongst dense crown foliage of trees to reach Valmiki Vihar in time for breakfast.
After freshening up and breakfast, take a trip in Gandak river in the safari boat (depending on river water level) and feel the beauty of nature encompassing you from all sides. See the icy mountain peaks in Nepal on a clear weather day. Time permitting, take another stroll in the beautiful Eco-park and along the Gandak edge pathway. Come back in time for an early quick lunch. It’s time to say goodbye to Valmiki Tiger Reserve! Load your bags on the vehicle and start back with beautiful and unforgettable memories. Stop at Motihari for tea and snacks. Reach Patna by 8.00 pm Exchange pleasantries with your travel mates and reach your homes with an experience of a lifetime!
